The latest quarterly workplace fatality statistics from the Health and Safety Executive highlight a decrease in work-related fatal injuries.

The latest quarterly fatal injury figures from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have revealed that between April and December 2024, 87 workers tragically lost their lives in work-related accidents. This is a decrease from 92 workers who were fatally injured in the previous period. The industries with the highest prevalence of fatal injuries at work include agriculture, forestry and fishing, construction and services.  

Acting quickly is critical in a first aid emergency, as the sooner you act and get help, the better the outcome for the person. So, it’s important that you have people in your team who have the skills and confidence to act in a first aid emergency. But first aid skills can diminish over time, so to remain legally compliant you should ensure that your team have the skills and confidence to act in a first aid emergency.
