What is a Annual First Aid Refresher course?

This half-day Annual First Aid Refresher course is suitable for those who wish to follow the Health and Safety Executive's (HSE) recommendation that first aiders have annual refresher training to maintain their skills and keep up to date with any changes which may happen between completing a First Aid at Work course and requalifying three years later.

It is designed for anyone who wishes to refresh their existing First Aid at Work training. The HSE strongly recommends that all first aiders holding a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate complete an annual skills update.

The course recaps how to help someone who:

  • is unresponsive and not breathing, including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • is unresponsive and breathing
  • is choking
  • is bleeding heavily
  • is in shock
  • is burnt
  • is having a seizure.

What happens when I book?

After purchase, you will receive an email with log in to our online learning platform. Once logged in, or passed to the learner to log in, the user will be able to choose their course.

How the online (e-learning) course works

The course is an interactive course that helps build learning though multiple modules and varied learning options.

How our classroom [in-person] based training works?

Course learners can attend a physical course either in one of our training venues or at your own premises. Classroom based courses allow learners to interact face-to-face with their trainer and peers, helping build relationships and trust within a team.

It typically involves group discussions, and practical activities to make the course interactive and engaging for all learning styles
