Streamlined booking confirmation process
We are always looking at new ways to enhance our customer experience and are pleased to launch our new streamlined booking confirmation and joining instructions process which will make booking your first aid training course with the British Red Cross even easier!
When you book a course, you'll receive your booking confirmation and joining instructions in one email within an hour of completing your booking – rather than getting the booking confirmation first and the joining instructions later. We will no longer send out the information separately by post unless you specifically request this.
You'll benefit from:
- quicker confirmation – you should receive the booking confirmation within an hour of booking
- fewer emails and letters – you'll get all the booking and course information by email in one go
- greater accessibility – all the information will be in one document, which can be viewed and saved on any device.
And if you're booking for several people, you can now choose to send the information to each attendee so that they'll receive it first-hand rather than you having to forward it on – saving you valuable time. Please note that a unique email address must be used for each person; we can't send multiple emails to a shared address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org).

What are joining instructions?
Joining instructions provide all the pre-course information attendees will need, including the date, time and location of the course and a link to the venue page on our website for further information about directions, parking and refreshments.
They ensure attendees know what time to arrive at the venue, how to get there and what to expect on the day.
What if I don’t receive the email?
You should receive the email within an hour of making your booking, whether you booked online or over the phone.
If it hasn't arrived after an hour, please check your junk/spam folder; you can help our emails reach your inbox by adding email@example.com to your safe senders list.
If you still can't find the email, please call our customer services team on 0844 412 2747 and we'll re-send it to you.
How do I request a paper copy of the booking confirmation / joining instructions?
Simply select this option when booking online or ask the sales advisor when booking over the phone.

Can you send me the joining instructions just before the course, rather than after booking?
Most customers prefer to receive this information as soon as they have made the booking (which is why we send an automated email) but if you prefer, you can give us a call and we will be happy to re-send the information at any time between the booking and the date of your course.
