Why encourage your employees to learn first aid?
Organisations must comply with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, which state that employers should provide enough trained first aiders to help injured or ill staff.
We're encouraging organisations to go beyond the legal requirements and help all their employees gain the skills and confidence to help someone in a first aid emergency – whether that's in the workplace, at home or in the community.
We've made first aid easy to learn and remember. Simply download our free first aid pack* and find out more about the range of ways you and your employees can learn first aid.
- First aid apps – download our free apps which are packed with useful videos, animations and tips. Each skill only takes a few minutes to learn.
- Online learning – our First Aid website makes it easy to learn the skills to help in an emergency. You can watch videos, learn the first aid steps and test your knowledge.
- Book a course – if you prefer hands-on learning, we offer a range of first aid courses for people who want to learn first aid for their everyday life.
* This does not qualify the learner as a first aider in the workplace. If your needs assessment identifies a requirement for a trained first aider, the person must complete a workplace first aid course.
