First aid annual skills update

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who wish to refresh and update their existing first aid at work skills.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) strongly recommends that all first aiders holding a valid first aid at work or emergency first aid at work certificate complete an annual skills update.

Course content includes:

The course recaps how to help someone who is:

  • unresponsive and not breathing (including a practical awareness session on how to use an automated external defibrillator/AED)
  • unresponsive and breathing
  • bleeding
  • having a seizure
  • choking.

Qualification

This course is not certified. It is designed to keep your existing first aid at work or emergency first aid at work skills and confidence refreshed.

Pre-requisites

Learners must have a valid first aid at work or emergency first aid at work certificate to take this course.

Our courses offer a practical, hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use first aid skills in a real life situation.

Learners must:

  • be physically able to carry out the practical elements of the course
  • attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
