HSE NI changes in first aid
The Health and Safety Executive Northern Ireland (HSE NI) has introduced a number of changes that may affect first aid training requirements within your workplace (as of 1 September 2011).
Reassess the risk to your business
We recommend that in light of the changes you undertake a risk assessment. Businesses can use the Red Cross’s online first aid course calculator to review their first aid training requirements simply.
Changes to the first aid at work course
The four day first aid at work course is now available as a three day course as of 1 September. The shorter course has been streamlined but the training will remain as comprehensive as before. This course is suitable for high risk environments and many businesses that previously fell into the medium risk category.
A new emergency first aider at work course has been introduced
This new one day course is suitable for SMEs in low risk environments. It will enable the attendee to gain a HSE NI accredited certificate in first aid and be recognised as a workplace first aider.
You can find out more or book the new courses online now.
If you hold a current qualification, this will remain valid until the expiry date shown on your certificate .
