Who is it for?
Suitable for people 18 years and over, this course is for members of the public who are looking for a hands-on, practical course to learn emergency first aid skills, with minimal clinical content. This course does not qualify you as a first aider in the workplace under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

- Helping an unconscious person - breathing and not breathing
- Choking
- Severe blood loss and shock
Qualification
This course is continually assessed and a certificate of competency is issued. We recommend that participants refresh their skills every 3 years.
Pre-requisites
No previous knowledge of first aid needed. Participants are encouraged to discuss any particular learning needs beforehand.
Notes
This half-day course primarily covers adult first aid but can be varied to cover child and/or infant first aid. Check with the venue for more information.
